If you cannot go on vacation for a serious reason and you have to cancel it, the insurance company will pay you a partial refund of the so-called cancellation fees that you had to pay in connection with the cancellation of the trip/stay.
The insurance also covers risks associated with the disease Covid-19 - e.g. if you are quarantined (due to contact, illness in the family, etc.) or directly due to the disease Covid-19.
This insurance applies to events that make it impossible to take a vacation due to a serious illness, injury or death of the participant or his relative. Details and possible exceptions can be found on the insurance company's website.
The total amount of compensation is limited to €12,000 per contract and the insured's co-payment is 20%. After canceling the tour, Italieonline will issue a confirmation of the amount of the cancellation fees charged, and the participant will submit it together with a doctor's certificate and a completed form to the insurance company, which will then pay 80% of the cancellation fees.
Cancellation or shortening of the trip due to:
- Death, illness or injury of the insured
- Death, illness or injury of a family member
- Redundancies due to redundancy
- Subpoena to testify
- For other events, see insurance conditions
The insurance begins after the conclusion of a valid travel contract and payment of the total price of the trip or a deposit of 50% (all payments must be made on time). The end of the insurance is the moment of commencement or eventual application of the insurance event. The cancellation fee when canceling insurance is always 100% of the premium price.
The cost of cancellation insurance is 4% of the tour/stay price.
