The mediterranean town Cariati is located next to the Ionic Sea in Italy in Calabria. The historical centre with narrow tiny streets is surrounded by walls from the 15th century and the medieval part of cariati is located at the hill about 1 km away from the sea and it offers an unforgettable view of the Ionic coastline.
The town is famous for the handmade woven carpets and curtains, the traditional ceramics and also for delicious ice - cream which was appreciated in a world competition.
