Gatteo and Mare is located at the coast of the Jordan Sea at the river mouth of the famous Rubikon, in central part of Italy called Emilia Romagna between the towns Cesenatico and Bellaria Igea Marina.The long sandy beaches lead to Rimini and whole area is a popular place for summer holidays among the tourists.
There is a celebration of the 'cat week' every year in July - Settimana della Micizia. The whole town becomes very lively, there are exhibitions, competitions and performances inspired by cats.
