Liguria

Liguria is located at the coast of the Ligurian Sea in the northwest of Italy. It is the third smallest region in Italy with the capital city of Genova, which has an important harbor. The coastline is mostly rocky, but you can find here also picturesque bays and long sandy or pebbe beaches. The attractivity of this place is increased also by the nearness of Monaco, Monte Carlo, San Remo and Cannes. the whole area is towards the south, so the climate is extremely sunny. Typical for this area are busy resorts, palm promenades, clear sea and pebble beaches. Liguria attracts the visitors also because of its many picturesque little towns, settlements, Church buildings and a fascinating natural scenery. The region consists of two parts - the part from Genova to the west is called Ponente, the one from Genova eastwards is called Levante. The most popular resorts are San Remo, Imperia, Diano Marina, Pietra Ligure or San Bartolomeo. The rocky nature with pretty bays in the south of Liguria called Cinqueterre is also worth visiting.
