Livigno is a modern, popular and one of the best ski resorts in Europe, which is located in the duty free area between Italy and Switzerland at an altitude of 1820 metres. Winter access road leads to here from Switzerland by one-way 3,3 km long tunnel Munt la Schera (fee for return way 35 EUR on Saturday and 30 EUR on other days of the week), the tunnel is open 24 hours every day. Another access point is pass Foscagno (2291 metres) at Bormio.
Thanks to duty free zone you can very conveniently purchase (eg. cigarettes, alcohol, perfumes or clothing of fashion brands) even during an afternoon walk along the long pedestrian zone lined by shops and cafes.
Livigno is the largest center of Alta Valtellina. It is one of the best ski resorts in Europe and is more and more sought after. It offers excellent conditions for skiing - exceptional snow certainty, sunny weather and clean air, mainly modern cable cars and precisely functioning network of ski buses. Skiing is possible on both sides of mountain valley (Mottolino and Carosello 3000), there is also the possibility of freeride skiing and snowboarding (the largest and finest park in the Alps). This area offers approximately 68 km of ski slopes in the most ideal possible ratio in terms of their demands, 40 km of cross country skiing trails, ideal conditions for ski mountaineering, swimming pool's and wellness center Aqua Granda.
