If you're looking for a nice beach on the Amalfi Coast, Fornillo Beach is definitely worth a visit. With crystal clear water and picturesque cliffs, you can spend the whole day here. Fornillo Beach may seem far away from the town, but it's actually just a ten-minute walk from Positano seafront: but don't forget that, like the whole Amalfi Coast, there is a long staircase leading down to the sea.
The beach is relatively small, but the seabed in this area is ideal for snorkelling. This is why there can be more people here than in other areas. From about 10 o'clock onwards, it fills up. It's worth the wait!
By car
When you arrive by car, leave your car in one of Positano's secure, paid parking lots: Di Gennaro and Mandara are the closest to the pedestrian zone and in the summer season it's best to book to make sure you find a space. Forget about parking in free spaces. A few spaces, marked off by white or yellow stripes, are reserved for residents.
By ferry
Positano and Fornillo beach can be reached by sea. There is a very frequent ferry from Salerno and Sorrento. It is the best and also the most fun way to get to the Amalfi Coast. From the ferry you can admire the historic centre in all its glory.
